Pivot NW

Role (Designer and Consultant): Information Design, Motion Graphics, Presentation Design, UX Research

This is a summary of the work that I did at Pivot NW, not a case study.

Pivot NW (now rebranded as PACE NW) was a research project, funded by the Lilly Endowment, that investigated the psychological engagement of young adults in the church. The project was a collaboration between members of SPU’s School of Psychology and School of Theology. My main responsibilities was to visually communicate data to stakeholders and facilitate engagement among members.

User Research

Pivot NW’s digital platforms (website and app) were essential for introducing newcomers to our work and acting as a library for our existing content. While improving traffic and clicks was simple, the big challenge that we overcame was increasing the quality of the user’s visit. As part of our research and analysis, we found that the vast majority of ours users were having trouble searching for specific content. We also found out that there were varying demographics of users for each category of content (podcasts, guides, videos, etc). As a result, we organized each of those categories into easily findable sections on the front page.

Presentation Designs

I was responsible for visually communicating complicated research findings to stakeholders in a comprehendible manner. This was an important task because one of the main goals of my work was to encourage further funding for the project.
